How we started

Discontented with the thought of sitting at a computer for 40 hours per week, former design student, Zac Pankey, desired something more tactile. While dabbling in sculpture courses at Union University, Pankey began to recognize the severe lack of handmade objects in the home. He noticed they were filled with furniture and decor that were cheap and mass-produced. Compelled to create handmade furniture that was both beautiful and affordable, Pankey began producing work that attempted to evoke conversation and create community.

"We believe we fill our homes with furniture so we can fill our furniture with those we love."

Wheelhouse Trade Company was created in Spring 2014 to provide individuals the opportunity to enrich their homes with sincere, quality furniture and home décor. Through custom work, we strive to provide the right piece to furnish your home allowing you to create community and conversation. We invite you to partner with us to create your significant moments in life.

Our pieces include handcrafted wood and steel to construct an industrial look that is affordable and custom for each person’s home.
